In partnership with Fresh Cup Magazine, the TOPS award is given to coffee retailers who not only believe in coffee excellence, but who are truly devoted to quality in every aspect of their business. Now a multi-level award, the TOPS program recognizes that the art of excellence is found in the process of continuous improvement.
The TOPS program encourages retailers and roaster-retailers to take proactive steps in a number of different areas: continuing education for business owners, employee training, consumer education, support of specialty coffee origins, coffee promotion, and quality standards. The purpose of the program is to offer coffee retailers positive steps that lead them toward a more profitable business, and then, each year recognize retailers who are leading the field in building excellence in their organizations.
There are now four TOPS Award levels:
- TOPS Award – Coffee Retail Excellence
- TOPS Award – BEAN GOLD
- TOPS Award – BEVERAGE GOLD
- TOPS Award – PLATINUM
