  • "ochratoxin OR mycotoxins" will find either word anywhere in the document.

  • "organic ADJ coffee" will find the phrase "organic coffee" anywhere in the document.

  • "fair ADJ trade NOT organic" will find documents on "fair trade" that do not discuss organic issues.

  • "consumption NEAR trends" will find the phrases "consumption trends" or "trends in consumption"

  • "consumption W/5 teenagers" will find the word "consumption" when it appears within five words of "teenagers."

  • "consum* AND teen*" will find words beginning with "consum" (consume, consumes, consumer, etc.) and words beginning with "teen" (teens, teenage, teenager, etc.) in the same document.

  • "consumption ADJ trends AND year=1990" will find documents that mention the year 1990 or were published in 1990 and include the phrase "consumption trends."
